The largest urban area in Canada is the Greater
Toronto Area, generally known as the GTA, with about 5 million residents living
in the area. Each municipality has its own
transit system, and all the transit systems are linked with GO Transit trains
and buses. Until 2006, all the transit
systems in the GTA were completely separate, but they are now under the control
of Metrolinx, a provincial agency mandated to oversee
and integrate commuter services from Hamilton to Oshawa. Click below to see pictures of buses in the
GTA.
